About LABEL 2020

New label driving supply and demand of energy efficient products

The EU energy label for products has been helping consumers find and choose energy-efficient products for more than 25 years. The label has driven the development of innovative, efficient products that drastically reduce the energy consumption and running costs of appliances.
To ensure the success of the energy label in the future, new labels have been introduced as of 1 March 2021, which will once again ensure more clarity and better comparability for consumers.
The EU project "LABEL2020" is intended to help ensure a smooth transition to the new labels with energy efficiency classes A-G. The project started in June 2019 and will run until January 2023.

Who is behind the LABEL 2020 project:
LABEL 2020 is coordinated by the Austrian Energy Agency and implemented with project partners such as national energy agencies, environmental associations and expert organisations in 14 EU Member States and the UK.
